Faiq Mari is Assistant Professor at the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning at Birzeit University, Palestine.

Faiq’s research studies the production of the built environment in Palestine and the colonized peripheries more generally. His doctoral dissertation, Masha' of the Periphery, examined the persistence of collective labor and property, in forms such as cooperatives, within Palestinian liberation struggle, and analyzed this phenomenon through spatial political economy, history of political organization, and the historical and normative political theories of Arab Marxist Hadi al-Alawi. In other recent publications, Faiq has studied the revitalization of adobe architecture in occupied Palestine, analyzing the political economy of contemporary attempts at its revival.

Faiq has practiced architecture and taught at Birzeit and Al-Quds Universities. He is an editor at Arab Urbanism, he is also senior researcher at the Institute of Development Policy, University of Antwerp. His writings have appeared in the Journal of Palestine Studies, the International Labor and Working Class History journal, Babelwad, and other journals and edited volumes.
