Elizabeth’s research examines the intersections of visual and scientific inquiry in the architectural culture of the early modern world. Her expertise lies in the architecture and architectural theory of northern Europe and colonial Latin America, as well as their entanglements with the methods and investigative practices of the natural sciences from the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries. She additionally publishes on the historiography of art and architecture in the German-speaking world.
